Designer with a Capital “D”

Design has shifted and shaped our culture, and the ripples of the greatest minds still impact the discipline today. Designers credited with the huge cultural shifts of the past century typically have these 4 traits:

The Designer Archetype

  1. COMPETENCY: good understanding of process, principles and execution (not failing on basic steps)
  2. STYLE: authority to maintain close adherence to an individual vision through to production in a recognizable style
  3. AUDIENCE: able to impact a large number of people, either through their messages or through their design
  4. MEANING: conceptual and personal views of the world “embodied” in the design- or captured in writing
